Covering over 6,200 acres of rolling hills of grand estates, citrus, and eucalyptus trees only five miles from the Pacific Ocean, Rancho Santa Fe offers a comfortable yet elegant lifestyle to its residents.
The vast majority of the community was planned in the 1920s by architect Lilian Rice, who created a unity between the Spanish Colonial Revival buildings and the lush surroundings. This harmony is still apparent today in the community, thanks to a Protective Covenant passed in 1927 that seeks to ensure the “preservation, maintenance, development, and improvement of property owners and in conformance with the general community plan.
The Rancho Santa Fe Association is still active in maintaining this heritage today. Rancho Santa Fe continues to attract those who seek a gracious and active community close to amenities such as the famous Rancho Santa Fe Golf Course and The Rancho Santa Fe Riding Club.
